Summer Activities Schedule

Each program consists of its own weekly theme, so that your child has something new to anticipate with each coming week.
We are dedicated to providing need-based programming for children. If you're in a position to contribute, a donation to Kahakukahi would be deeply appreciated—every penny goes directly toward supporting our programs and no one is turned away for lack of funds. JUNE
Jr. Guard June 2–6 (Ages 6–9) Mon-Fri from 1-5pm
Jr. Guard June 16-20 (Ages 6–9) Mon-Fri from 1-5pm
Join us for the Kahākūkahi Ocean Academy Jr. Guard program — a week-long ocean safety adventure for kids! Designed to build confidence, fitness, and respect for the ocean This action-packed, week-long experience is made for kids who love the ocean and want to level up their beach skills! From wave-riding and rescue drills to ocean safety and environmental awareness, Jr. Guards will train like real lifeguards — all while making new friends and having a blast. Fun, fitness, and ocean vibes all week long!
Marine Science June 23–27 (Ages 6–12) Mon-Fri from 1-4pm
Give your child an unforgettable summer afternoon exploring ocean life, playing educational games, and learning how to care for our marine environment. Each day features hands-on activities that blend science, creativity, and fun.
Day 1: Marine Games and Discovery Location: KOAPAIR Get to know marine animals & ocean facts through fun games!
Day 2: Ocean Stewardship & Art “Trash to Treasure” Location: KOAPAIR
Kids learn about ocean conservation through creativity!
Day 3: Field Trip to Maui Ocean Center Location: Maui Ocean Center
Explore real marine habitats and Hawaiian sea life!
Note: Participation requires ticket purchase.
Day 4: Snorkel & Explore Location:Napili Bay or Kapalua Bay
A beach day to connect directly with the ocean!
Day 5: Build & Launch Your Own Boat Location: KOAPAIR
Wrap up the week with a fun engineering and creativity challenge!

Music & Mindfulness July 21–25 (Ages 6–12) Mon-Fri from 1-5pm
Get ready for an uplifting journey where keiki connect through sound, culture, and self-expression! In this dynamic program, youth will dive into the world of hand drums, learning Hawaiian mele and global rhythms in a fun, interactive setting. Guided by passionate instructors, they’ll drum, sing, and jam, building skills, confidence, & friendship along the way.
But it’s more than just music—it’s about mindfulness. Through rhythm and reflection, keiki will explore presence, emotional awareness, and the joy of being in the moment. Every session blends creativity with cultural roots, encouraging each child to find their voice and play in harmony with others.
No experience needed—just an open heart and a love for good vibes!

Following the Lahaina fires, we made a deep commitment to create a safe post-fire healing space for resilience, identity, and mentorship.
Hands-on activities
Our activities are designed to keep your child engaged, whether it’s practicing first aid, learning about Hawaii’s coral reef or mastering ukulele chords educational moments are tucked into every lesson.
Educational Videos
Each weekly schedule consists of video learning activities. Your child will learn about basic principles ocean conservation, environmental stewardship and the power of youth leadership.
